Chatline’s ’Bacterial Colonization’ paints several nonfigurative images, all of them expressive, which of course appears as rather contradictory. But with each track having a unique outlook, they are even still rhythmically controlled in the same kind of abstract alliance between deep base, atonal harmony and percussion.
A Stockholm native, Chatline has previously collaborated with Varg and other equal companions. Reminiscent of rainy tracks and the scraping of gravel underfoot a pair of trainers, Chatline’s debut on Northern Electronics alludes to the soundtrack of an imaginary graffiti film, an homage to the early days. Feel the swinging sword of Damocles, and keep running.

Varg (yes that Varg) is simply one of the best electronic musicians on the planet. His music is always inventive and challenging. I recommend anything Jonas produces in all of his various personas. Burton Thomas

A wonderful compilation with so many favorites already. I bought the tapes recently and I love how it sounds. It must have been hard too pick the right track in this compilation. I have too say that almost every track stands on it’s own, that alone is a great achievement. Big thumbs up🎻 Raevon loves music
