Acronym is on a doozie of a roll at the moment and the joy is, he demonstrates a different facet of his formidable talent with each successive release. Last year's "June" album was a sumptuous ambient/techno odyssey while the lengthy "Ashes" EP which followed it was techno in technicolor, all melodic twists and turns with a warmth that belied its Nordic provenance. "Guadalquivir" is an exquisite exercise in restraint that ends with "Cleansed In Fire" which would be far better titled "Bathed In Sweetness And Light". Like all Acronym's work though, it's simply superb.
Favorite track: Cleansed in Fire.
